Why Nestbalm exists
Nestbalm started as our own problem. Family money is spread across several accounts, several cards and several heads. The bank app shows one account. The spreadsheet you built once breaks the moment two people edit it. And the surprise arrives at the same time every month: right at the end, when a forgotten annual bill comes off the account.
We built the tool for our own family first. Now Nestbalm is there for other families too.
What Nestbalm does
We created an app that helps people plan expenses, track them with visual tools, and avoid unpleasant surprises from unexpected (forgotten) spending. Families can use it to educate their kids on what money is and how to use it.
In practice: you upload your bank's export files, Nestbalm turns them into charts and a plan, and the whole family sees the same page. No access to your bank account, no bank connection. Vesper, the assistant in the app, sorts and explains; you decide.
How we handle your data
For a money app this is the page that matters most, so we stick to what can be checked:
Your data is stored on European servers, encrypted at rest and in transit. Your bank account numbers and transaction memos are separately encrypted. Your household gets its own database schema. We never sell your data and never train on it. No third-party trackers, no pixels.
And since the question always comes: yes, technically we can access your data. Account recovery is deliberately built that way, because families lose passphrases and still need their information back. What we promise is therefore narrower and checkable: European servers, encryption, no trackers, no data sales, no training on your numbers.

Who is behind it
Nestbalm is operated by Nestbalm UG (haftungsbeschränkt), based in Unterhaching near Munich, Germany, registered at the Munich district court (HRB 314399). The managing director is Nikolay Tonev. The company is independent and belongs to no bank and no corporate group.
We are a small company at the beginning. That has one advantage: when you write to us, someone who knows the product answers.
Where we are
Nestbalm is young. The first families are using the app, and much of what arrives in the coming months comes from their feedback. If something is missing or gets in your way, tell us. We read every message.
